All paintings tell stories, but the one behind Gentle Embrace is very close to my heart.

I’ve been living in rented spaces for my entire adult life. And I know that’s the reality for most. White walls, temporary locations, and a lack of personality.

When I originally decided to give abstract painting a go at the end of 2022, I started with mixed media, primarily working with acrylic. Learning a new medium is always a fun and thorny journey, and my initial attempts were very messy and full of chaotic energy. I saved a few of them a reminder of where my journey began, and to be able to reflect on how far I’ve come since.
