We spend a lot of our life waiting. For the perfect time, for a special moment. We wait to take action, we wait to make a decision, we wait without a reason. Sometimes, that self-emposed waiting period never ends, leaving us in a perpetual liminal space. A waiting room of our mind.
In Latin, the word limen means threshold. That in-between place, whether physical or figurative, where you are no longer in the old place, but have not yet reached your new destination.
liminal s p a c e s explores the theme of waiting through movement of colour, compostion and shape. These paintings serve as a reminder that waiting should be a temporary state - a passing period bridging the now and soon.
